The Gambia we can offer the same drum and dance tuition as in Guinea
Conakry, but you will also be able to enjoy the beautiful beaches
and a more lively night life if you wish. Although the tourist hotels
are in the vicinity, you will be staying with local people, so will
not come into contact with large numbers of visitors unless you
go to the hotels. |

 As
in Guinea, you will stay on our compound and be taught by local musicians.
In the season, these musicians can be seen performing at local hotels
each evening. Out of season, they perform perhaps once or twice a
week. |

 There
are also some interesting places to visit around the area, getting
away a little from the immediate area. Lonely Planet and Rough Guide
are good publications to look at before you go. In addition, our friends
at the compound will be happy to show you these places and give you
as much guidance as you would like. Examples of other activities are
fishing trips, bird watching and a visit to the local crocodile pool. |
